Can I get scene hair?

I have SUPERRRR fine/thin hair, and it's barely to my shoulders(a little shorter in the back, but not much). I plan on growing it out, but it grows really slow and would like to have a new haircut/style for the new school year. I dont want a ton of the spikey teasing kinda thing, a little teasing(if needed) is okay, I just dont want my hair to be 100% gel and hairspray. Thanks to all who answer <3.
