So here's the story in a nutshell. I've known this girl since freshman year (I'm a rising junior). We've recently become close friends and I feel like we trust one another. A few weeks ago I tried to kill myself by popping a hand full of tylenol. I messed up my insides real bad and now I see a therepist and physitrist. I am now on anti-depressants. I am also losing alot of weight real quickly, I have made myself puke before an'd I hardly eat (if I can get away with it).. I am single with no kids, grew up Lutheran, but have strayed and am ready to start practicing faith again. I despise Obama - but I think his speech was great. I think his comment about civility could have just as easily been directed at the dem's for using this tragedy as a political weapon. My family background is not a religious one, I was Christened as a baby but we never went to church as children so in that respect I am C of E. I have always felt the Lord was with me but we didn't praise and worship him growing up. My sister and I went to Sunday school as children in the local village as it was a place to meet up with friends from school and they did parties at Christmas and Easter etc, I enjoyed learning about God and the story of Jesus's life and felt connected to him even at this young age where as my sister found it boring so we stopped going. A few years later, when I was about 12 years old I asked if I could be confirmed, not sure how it came about as I knew nothing about it really but my Mum took me to confirmation lessons and waited for me in the car. I felt completely out of my depth as I didn't have any real experience of religion or going to church and was in a class with people that had been going to church every week for as long as they could remember and knew the bible etc so after a couple of lessons I stopped going. Then a couple of years ago I started talking to God again and was confirmed but moved areas and found the local church very formal, old fashioned and the Sunday services very depressing and sombre. I want to Praise the Lord, sing my heart out and feel good that Jesus loves me. I want to be inspired and encouraged to be a good christian through the sermon, I want to feel connected to the Lord and taught how I can interpret the bible to help me be a good Christian and resist sin, temptation and evil. The local church I was attending would hand out a printed leaflet on arrival which we would read along with the reverent, have someone read a passage from the bible, sing a few very old and slow hymns that always seemed to be the same tune, go through the communion procedure, say a prayer and go home. The whole service was less than an hour and although everyone was lovely and friendly, I never felt part of a Christian community where people go to praise the Lord and Jesus, it felt more like attendance was out of duty rather than for a love of God. All this has left me lost now, what sort of church am I looking for? I thought Pentecostal sounded more like a celebration of our love for the Lord but have read that it is very judgemental and someone like me would not be accepted. Whilst I am trying to stop my sinning and learn more about the bible etc, I am not quite 100% perfect model Christian and fear that I wouldn't ve able to be open and honest about myslf and who I am. I am trying to give up smoking, I live with my fiance of 6 years already (obviously out of wedlock), I still swear on occasion although trying to address this also and sometimes drink too much. These are all sins that I do want to change and I repent my sins to the Lord and ask for his forgiveness whilst praying for the strength to overcome temptation and resist evil but I am not there yet and wouldn't want to feel like I have to put on an act with fellow church members for fear of being shunned and not accepted otherwise. What sort of Church will accept a sinner like me and help me to conquer my sins rather than judge me for them? I live in Cheshire so there isn't a huge diverse mix in my area, I am not aware of a local Gospel church for example however I may just not know where it is. Has anyone got any ideas as to the type of Church that would be more suited to me or give me some insight into their experiences with their church and choice of worship to help me make an informed decision. I need some sort of chart that shows how much it costs to live from each year from before at least as far back as the 1950s to the present. It should reflect inflation rates and the costs of living in terms of housing, heath care, and education. I know there's got to be something out there that shows this information, I'm just not searching for the right terms. I have seen inflation charts from back to 1900's, but those don't reflect wages or the minimum wage.

It seemed like he didn't’t hear it at all. And the worst thing, I noticed how he looked at the teacher while the teacher was looking to me, (some of the other students were there and some were just chit chatting with each other- as the teacher just entered the class to release for the other teacher who was late to the class), and out of nowhere- my crush asked the teacher permission to put the ring on her finger, the teacher was hesitating(to my eyes) but as she was miss-so-friendly and all that, she finally gave up and let him to place the ring back on her finger. Some minor spelling and grammar errors. The whole paragraph looks ugly with the punctuation. It's a seemingly minuscule detail but when my first short story was being published my editor told me that a lot of punctuation hurts the story. A few weeks ago I tried to kill myself by popping a hand full of tylenol. I messed up my insides real bad and now I see a therepist and physitrist. I am now on anti-depressants. Am i over-exaggerating or is this the worst birthday ever?

I used to think Americans conservatives were reasonable and wise, but lately, the opposite seems to be true lately. I can't find too many moderate conservatives out there, all of them seem to be senile flag-waving "Christian Nation" bigots who get all their news from Fox, or radical Libertarians who advocate total disestablishment of all infrastructure so Koch Industries can buy more Lamborghinis to pollute the planet. Straw-man, I know... but the majority of conservatives I come across fit into one of those two groups, or both. My grandmother is a conservative, anti-vaccine creationist, climate-change denier, homophobe, alternative medicine promoter, and advocate of "Organic" food. Whenever I offer her evidence against her causes, she just shrugs it off and denies it because "I know I'm true". My father is a free-market guy who advocates the FairTax, a very radical idea of getting rid of all income tax in favor of a 30% sales tax... giving the rich the power to pummel the lower classes. Whenever I raise the fact that the 9/11 responders can't afford health insurance, he denies it and says "Everyone is insured in this country". Conservatives claim that Obama has ruined the country, but provide no evidence other than hypocritical, cherry-picked data and anecdotes... as well as stereotypes like "Welfare Queens" extending the wait times for healthcare. I heard one guy on Fox News claim that we're "Taxing Success"... really? These guys must be genius to find such successful justifications for their own selfishness, flaunting their wealth and establishing monopolies that influence our government. These guys would have much more money than the common man anyways... take, for instance, Eisenhower/Nixon-era tax rates. We're talking 70-90% income tax rates for the richest people in America... they still lived happily while we built vital infrastructure like Schools, Highways, and other modern-day necessities. Then Reagan came along and screwed the lower classes under the guise of the cold war and other flag-waving drivel.... unions were fired, the economy was deregulated, the rich got richer while the poor got poorer. Still, everyone thought of it as a success... today, as a result of deregulation and capitalist greed we're facing a home and banking crisis as well as a debt which could cause rapid inflation, and even stagflation in our future. Republicans just shake their head and say, "Reaganomics works, it's the regulations that screwed us". I can only pity them for their inability to face harsh truths.

I watched a brilliant Korean movie based on the fairytale Hansel & Gretel, it was quite dark and weird, very surreal! It was called "Hansel & Gretel" (funnily enough!) but if you don't mind subtitles, I think you'd enjoy it. You could also try the Spanish movie "Pan's Labyrinth" it's a beautiful movie, full of mystery and fantasy and great imagery.

Financially the company is a lot worse off now. Whilst you say kids = $$$, it aint the kids paying. How do i convince my parents to let me be what i want to be?

I've drawn a lot ever since i was lille. In elementary school me and my friends used to make "comic books" (even though i'd never even read a comic before lol). In sixth grade one of my friends got me interested in manga (japanese comic). I started to read manga every day and i came up with my own stories and characters and stuff. In seventh grade i decided that i wanted to be a mangaka (japanese comic artist) when i grew up. But whenever i buy manga my parents think that its a waste of money and tell me to stop buying them. My dad also teases me (in an EXTREMELY annoying way) and says that all i watch is "japanese shows", even though that's not true (He thought Ben 10: Ultimate alien was japanese lol). Whenever my parents asked me what i wanted to be, i lied and said " architect" but now whenever they ask, i say " idk". At the beginning of the year i started reading american comics and decided that i want to make comics here in america. But i still tell my parents that idk what i want to be because they think that artists are all poor and that you can only get good jobs if you're good at math and science (and i hate both of those subjects). They want to be a doctor or a lawyer or something. It's funny cuz they used to say you can be whatever you want to be, but now they say be what we tell you to be.
